The Department of Psychiatry, LMCH is addressing the mental health needs of individuals, offering a comprehensive range of services to promote emotional, psychological, and behavioral well-being in this region. The department provides services in both out-patient and in-patient care settings, along with emergency care. Patients are supported with either medication, psychological interventions, or both.

Special clinics such as the Clinic for Child and Adolescent, De-addiction Clinic, and Geriatric Clinic are also available. Recognizing the impact on family members of patients with mental health conditions, this department also provides education and counseling for family members to help them understand the nature of mental illness and how to support their loved ones effectively.

Awareness and stigma frequently play a role in treatment seeking or adhering to treatment in psychiatric illness. To address these factors, different awareness programs are conducted regularly. Lastly, collaboration between different departments is sought to ensure holistic care that addresses both physical and mental health.
